Antigua and Barbuda has lost another cultural icon. Joseph ‘Calypso Joe’ Hunte has died.
Known for his signature guitar and straw hat, Joe’s calypso ‘Bum Bum’ won the road march in 1970.
Decades on, the song remains popular, locally, regionally and internationally.
He will also be remembered for his contributions to the tourism industry, entertaining thousands of tourists over the years at hotels across the island.
The veteran calypsonian was also a restaurateur that specialized in local cuisine.
