A 54-year-old pastor from Cedar Grove is assisting police with investigations after nearly 60 pounds of suspected cannabis was seized at V.C. Bird International Airport on Saturday.

Dean Robert Gould arrived on American Airlines Flight AA2579 on 13 June when officers attached to the police K9 unit reportedly identified two duffle bags belonging to him for further inspection.

Police said a search uncovered 60 packages containing a green vegetable substance believed to be cannabis. The packages were allegedly concealed beneath clothing and footwear inside the luggage.

The substance weighed approximately 59.5 pounds and has an estimated street value of EC$357,000.

Investigators also found packages bearing the name Jahmai Gould and a Bronx, New York address. Authorities said they are examining the significance of that discovery as part of ongoing inquiries.

Gould, a United States citizen born in Antigua and Barbuda, was taken into custody for questioning. He is expected to be charged on Monday.

Police investigations continue.

  1. Anyone who is caught importing illegal drugs into the country should feel the full force of the law. Justice is for all. Entrance into the Kingdom of God requires an active, obedient relationship with God, rather than just outward religious performance, talk and title. Those who rely on false righteousness, Jesus will tell them, “I never know you.”
By the way, I am wondering if he will quality for a pardon as the DPP seem to be on a roll.

  2. This isn’t no low level dealer drug bust…this is organized crime..hope this open talk eyes as too who really masterminding crime in lil A&B

  6. hold strain Senator P. Just tell him to cough in court and you show up to court wit a bible in your hand and the DPP might let dem charges slide.

  8. I guess because you have the word pastor in front your name, they might give you free clearance, but my boy it’s not the front name, it’s all about the last name. In this country, once you have a certain last name and contributing big to this country, business and financially, endorsing, supporting, sponsoring, building, developing, opening and managing, all is well and the clearance is now there for any illegality to be overlooked. All these huge shipping containers and fleets of vehicles coming through custom, to me is the easiest way to flood our streets with drugs and guns.

  9. The biggest question that no one is asking how did he pass through American Customs and immigration? It’s mind buggling.

  10. Hey LIZ hab drama ns lool, anybody bring in more drug than the government chupz jus give me a fuc*ing break

  11. Walking around with a bible in your right hand and a spliff in your left doesnt qualify you to be a pastor sir

  12. DPP do your work and prosecute alledged drugs traffickers. The DPP giving the country a bad name

  13. What about, why he missed Saturday sabbath yesterday? Pastors only preach on Sundays? Or you’re trying to label him to a Sunday church? They already don’t like us!

  14. Maybe he can try the insanity route and if that fails just call up Boy George; he knows how to get releases for those types of goods. The General Elections are done and these traffickers seem to think that the treating is forever. It seems like greed to me. Just have some patience and wait for the date of the next Elections.

  15. This man made a decision to bring drugs into the country. He is a National of Antigua and Barbuda. Is he going to get the same treatment as the Canadian Woman? What is he going to tell his congregation about trafficking drugs? How could he be preaching to sinners.when he is indulging in sin himself.

  16. You sure he’s a “PASTOR”???? Today is Sunday, so he missed his sermon today? Wow!

WOE BE UNTO SHEPHERD that harm the flock!

  17. Had it been wrapped in something that said Temu I probably would have said fake…but with it being Ebay it is as real as they come.

  18. One of the biggest drug dealers in Antigua, who clone himself as a so-called business man ,got caught and let go with no explanation, hardly any traffic on ANR about how this can happen, but here we are crucifying this man like he is the first.

By the way, I bet he doesn’t get away with this, because in truth, the higher ups in Antigua loves foreigners more than their own.

I guess because the Jamaican is a big ABLP supporter.. huuumm..just calling out the hypocrisy and hate these ABLP supporters carry.

Dwayne George got caught red handed picking up packages for his drug partner, and nothing to say about it, they all turned a blind eye to Bronco Gate, but here we are vilifying this man who is clearly connected to the big drug dealers in Antigua.

These people are clearly not afraid to bring big drugs and guns into Antigua, because they know not a damn thing will come of it.

    Oh please!

You are all blinded by folly.

  19. Boss your partner is on the side of a failing political party soooooo shit like this doesn’t help……
