Antigua residents report minimal impact as Erin passes

0

Residents in Antigua say Hurricane Erin has so far brought limited disruption, with conditions across the island described as largely manageable.

People on the north side reported only brief overnight rainfall, with skies remaining grey but no “storm-like” conditions developing. Others noted that the day had so far seen light showers and cloudy weather, but nothing severe.

On the west coast, beachgoers said Jolly Beach was experiencing heavy cloud cover, occasional showers and stronger winds than usual. Further north at Dickenson Bay, storm surge combined with sargassum washed ashore has temporarily reduced beach width.

Many described the system as a “non-event” for Antigua, although the unsettled weather is influencing plans for excursions and outdoor activities.

Authorities continue to advise residents and visitors to remain alert, as Erin moves away from the northern Leeward Islands.
