Antigua and Barbuda’s Prime Minister Gaston Browne is in Dominica this weekend for the World Creole Music Festival, a highlight of the island’s Independence celebrations.

The annual three-day event, now in its 24th year, opened Friday night with thousands of locals and visitors celebrating the region’s Creole heritage through music, dance, and cuisine.

Browne was seen mingling with festivalgoers and regional leaders, including Dominica’s Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit and Tourism Minister Denise Charles. Known for his approachable style, he interacted freely with fans, taking photos and joining in the festivities.

This year’s lineup includes several international and regional acts, with dancehall star Vybz Kartel among the most anticipated performers. Browne’s presence underscored the spirit of regional unity and cultural diplomacy that the festival embodies.
