Prime Minister Gaston Browne has received an international award recognising his calls for global peace and diplomacy.
The honour, presented by the International Association of World Peace Advocates, highlights his stance that the Caribbean should remain a “Zone of Peace” and his continued appeals for an end to conflict worldwide.
Dr Martin Kofi Danso, who presented the award, praised Mr Browne’s consistent opposition to war, saying his message reflects the human cost of conflict.
Talks during the visit also focused on closer cooperation between Antigua and Barbuda and the organisation. Proposals include direct flights between the Caribbean and Africa and expanded trade links, particularly with Ghana.
In a symbolic gesture, Dr Danso presented Mr Browne with a traditional Ghanaian outfit, reflecting shared cultural ties and efforts to strengthen relations between Africa and the Caribbean.
The award underscores Antigua and Barbuda’s growing role in international advocacy and regional collaboration.
