Antigua Masonry Products (AMP) workers will appear before the Industrial Court next week as their labor dispute, ongoing since July 2024, continues.
The conflict began when employees and the Antigua and Barbuda Free Trade Union (ABFTU) accused AMP of stalling collective bargaining negotiations.
Tensions escalated on September 2 when workers staged a picket, leading AMP to file a court case that temporarily halted the strike.
Although AMP later withdrew its claim, workers initiated their own legal proceedings, which were postponed from October without explanation.
ABFTU President Samuel James confirmed the case is now set for management on December 16.

When I analyze how the new President of the Industrial Court rose to the top, it is my opinion that employees will be at a disadvantage once their dispute is heard before a Panel let by the new President.
It is also my opinion, that she is a lackey for the government so time will tell.
