Antigua, Latin America and the Caribbean in Solidarity with Palestine

16

(ACN) Jorge Arreaza , general secretary of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our Americas-People’s Trade Treaty (ALBA-TCP), extended the regional organization’s solidarity with Palestine.

Speaking at Cultural, Antifascist and Antizionist plaza in Caracas, Arreaza thanked the attendance of social movements at the rally in which he said that such action must be held in all countries of the world by those who feel the suffering of the Palestinian people, who will always stay in their own territory for good, PL news reported.

He said that the rally expressed the views of ALBA-TCP member nations like Cuba, Nicaragua, Bolivia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Grenada, Venezuela and also Honduras.

He said that a year ago, Hamas took an action against Israel which was condemned or approved, but the regional organization respects any position.

However, the official pointed out that the only cause for all the deaths in Palestine, Israel, Syria, Lebanon is the illegal occupation of Palestinian territories, there is no other cause; it is not Islamic terrorism, he noted.

Neither side cares about the plights of the less fortunate in the Caribbean or South America.
    TERRORISTS vs TERRORISTS
    GANGSTERS vs GANGSTERS

  2. @kreuk – Israel is the #10 military power in the world. If they wanted the Palestinians gone they would not exist. Also, they also have the backing of the world #1, the US. The so-called West Bank has always been part of Israel. This where Bethlehem and Nazareth are. When the Jews were scattered this area as well as Jerusalem was mostly vacant. When they returned after WW2 they wanted peace with the few Arabs that lived there. The surrounding Arab countries didn’t. They launched multiple wars and each time the Jews pushed them back and took back their homeland. It is not just in Gaza that Arabs live. They are free to live anywhere in Israel and they even serve in their government. The same cannot be said for Jews in Arab countries.

I encourage Christians to know your history and not fear being left out of the popular group. Your bible states that God gave this land to Abraham’s seed by way of Isaac and that they have a right to it. If you don’t believe that, why bother to read it at all?

Matthew 24:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved…24 The disciple is not above his master, nor the servant above his lord.

  3. @Mr. Byam: Who is the real terrorists? The people of Antigua and Barbuda STANDS with our Palestinians brothers! We cannot forget that we were subject to slavery as well. We cannot forget that our South Africans brothers went through under an apartheid system.

Anywhere is the world where people are oppressed for a long time, there will be an uprising. October 7 was not an attack on Israel, it was an uprising – a revolution.

Hamas was aware of the superior military power of Israel. But there comes a time when people are prepared to sacrifice their life for freedom. Recently, there have been some attacks (stabbing, etc) on Jews in Israel – don’t you think the persons caring out the attack knew they will be killed? But they are will to sacrifice their own life. Sorry for the innocent Jews because some are really against what is going on with Palestine.

Israel has been killing women, babies, civilian men, bombing churches, schools, hospitals, UN compounds and yet, you still do not see them as terrorist. The language used in the media is really able to penetrate your dead brain cells.

Israel violated Iran borders and when Iran retaliate, it is called an attack. Then Israel claims it needs to retaliate to that attack. The words attack, retaliate, terrorist and freedom fighters are used based on who commits the act.

Again, we feel the pain of the people of Palestine and Lebanon. They are not be white and they may not be christians or jews, but they are HUMANS.

  4. Amusing to me how the PM as well as some of these people in the comments take the Palestine situation so seriously when Antigua is in a deteriorating state. It’s sad what’s happening over there but old people say “secure your house before you look bout other people own”, out house is not secure. Our roads are atrocious, our ministers are crooks, crime rate is skyhigh, the economy is all messed up and the people of our little island home are suffering but we and our PM are worrying about two countries that have some of the most dangerous weapons and strongest armies in the world. Where are our priorities? We rather stand with them than to stand for ourselves and it’s a pity. I pray for them but I definitely pray for us first.

  5. Best to stay out of other people’s arguments. Our ancestors were enslaved, there was apartheid etc., but as far as we know our ancestors did not provoke their oppressors. The Palestinians chose to provoke Israel. If they attacked Israelis knowing they could be killed, then why are they complaining if that is what is happening to them? On the other hand, Israel blowing random presumed enemies up with hidden explosives is a bit concerning. Silly for human beings to fight over land. Both sides seem to have a valid historical claim. Too bad they can’t all share in peace. But, perhaps their cultures are too different to share one land? There is plenty of unoccupied land on earth. The UN countries could just clear some land, build some basic modern infrastructure and give a fancy new country to the Palestinians somewhere. Arab countries have way more land than tiny Israel so surely they could find a portion to donate to Palestinians? Why do people insist on clinging to and dying over a particular piece of land? I love my ancestors, but if I was offered a chance at a peaceful life in a brand new modern country I would take it with no hesitation. Why can’t humans just choose peace?

  6. To be clear, what I meant was our ancestors did not become enslaved because they provoked other people. They were just perhaps randomly enslaved for money. The Palestinians apparently created some of their own problems because of their past historical actions against Israel causing them to be separated in that area. They might have felt justified because some of their ancestors previously occupied some of that land. But, Israeli ancestors also previously occupied that land. So, it would be best if both would just agree to share or perhaps one group can agree to leave and live elsewhere, maybe with paid compensation. Surely human beings can negotiate in peace?

  7. I doubt they will seek peace though. If I’m not mistaken, according to the Bible, one of the signs of the end times is Israel surrounded by armies. Best for us to prepare our souls to meet our maker, become better people ourselves, rather than get too involved in what goes on over there. God will decide the victor.

  8. @peace, it is clear you know absolutely nothing about the history of this conflict. You should refrain from taking your history lessons from controlled Zionist media; you’re only be fed a one sided (Israel as victim) story… #itdidn’tstartonOctober7th.

    • @Free I don’t really care how the conflict started, people should negotiate instead of fighting over land aka dirt and rocks. And we should stay out of it. Our ancestors being enslaved has nothing to do with other people’s fight over land.

  9. @peace, good thing your opinion won’t make a difference to the leaders of the Caribbean.
Your thinking that Palestinians are fighting over land shows your ignorance. You have no idea they live in an open air prison for 76 years and has been under occupation by an apartheid state. It’s illegal for Palestinians to collect rain water. They are fighting for their freedom and right to self determination, mental midget.
Stay off the tel-lie- vision and read books.

  10. @peace : I do not believe that you meant bad but your history is a bit off. Let me ask you, do you really think Israel or the USA wants peace? Israel gave a peace proposal and when the proposal was accepted by Hamas via the USA, then Israel rejected it.

The USA on the other hand trying to mediate and they are providing a little food to the Palestinians and BOMBS to Israel. How can you part a fight that way?

@Bible : More than likely you are following the King James version of the bible. In your Christian belief, you believe that the Jews are the chosen people, right? Are you aware that Jews are not Christians? Do you know that one of the fundamental difference between the Jews and the Christians is that Jews do NOT consider Jesus as their Messiah, while Christians do? For the Jews, Jesus was just a teacher or Rabbi. Yet, your King James bible has the Jews as the chosen and Jesus as your Messiah.

In deductive reasoning, if your base premise is false, your conclusion cannot be true.

  11. You do not speak for all of us at all. Hamas should be condemned for recklessly taking the lives of these innocent people. Still today they continue to keep hostages. They have perfected the art of self-deflection and will continue to use their own people as pawns in this game. The cowards continue to hide in tunnels while they watch their people suffer. We will never be in solidarity with such people who THRIVE on hate and care nothing for the lives of their people. Article writer DO NOT GENERALIZE! WE DO NIT STAND WITH THEM!
