Antigua Pro Racing (APR) has joined the Caribbean Drag Racing Championship (CDRC), expanding the competition to eight countries, including Barbados, Grenada, Guyana, St Lucia, St Vincent & the Grenadines, Trinidad & Tobago, and Jamaica.
Stephen Gunter, Chairman of the Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club, welcomed the expansion, emphasizing the championship’s role in uniting the Caribbean motorsport community.
Gaston A. Browne III, President of the Antigua & Barbuda Drag Racing Association (ABDRA), celebrated the move as a boost to both motorsport development and tourism in Antigua.
APR, the country’s National Sporting Authority affiliated with the FIA, is committed to supporting local racers through technical and safety training. Karl Belizaire, a local drag racing competitor, highlighted the regional benefits of the CDRC, which provides local drivers with the chance to compete internationally.
The move has been positively received globally, with FIA Drag Racing Commission member Chris Elliott also welcoming Antigua’s inclusion.

It is a pure disrespect to have any country flag dragging on the ground, but those who purchase their birth right to this country by migration from another country, would not understand. I’m sure if it was the flag from his ancestor’s country land he would not have it on the ground.
Michael Gordon, born here. No respect for nothing or nobody. He think he king because plenty money. Friend with Carlo Falcone…what you expect…
Proud moment for Antiguan racers. Can’t wait to see them compete on the big stage!
Why is the flag dragging like that? Come on now do better !!!!
Hats off to the Antiguan Drag Racing Association for making this happen. Your hard work is paying off!
I looking forward to the championship finals in Jamaica.
