The Police Force, the Fire Brigade, and His Majesty’s Prison will have their nomenclature altered to reflect the modernized functions of these three institutions.

The new laws will identify these institutions as: The Police Service, The Fire and Rescue Service Department, and the Antigua and Barbuda Correction Facility.

They will become the new names by which those reformed institutions are thenceforth known.

These changes are not cosmetic.

A Forensic Services and Sciences Department will be introduced, since sending evidence abroad to be tested has proven to be expensive and takes an indeterminate length of time for results to be returned.

That will end with the creation of this new Department.

  1. A name change doesn’t fix the internal institutions have. Fix the organizational culture, stop allowing politics to interfere with the mandate yall we’re created to fulfill, then I’ll be impressed, talking about m9dernized functions fox that!

  2. How about they fix the prisons and stop feeding them spoiled food they deserve a good meal they treat them like animals in there the guards steal all the foots and vegetables they get and take it home

  3. What is the point if the police force can’t even provide the service it is supposed to now? May as well call it “the police sometimes”

  4. Changing names in this environment is what sleight of hand magicians call miss direction. A constant supply of news to take the spotlight off of critical issues such as political corruption, raising taxes, giving away your land and tranquility.
