Antigua and Barbuda’s main hospital has issued a statement following the death of a young mother, describing the loss as “devastating and deeply felt.”

The hospital said the woman had been under continuous care, with both its medical team and her private physician involved.
Staff, it added, “worked tirelessly and compassionately,” while respecting the patient’s choices.
Citing legal and ethical obligations, the hospital declined to release medical details but confirmed that all maternal deaths are subject to review to ensure standards of care.
It said it remained committed to supporting families “with compassion and dignity” during such difficult times.

She didn’t even live to enjoy motherhood poor baby gonna grow up with the mom this must be hesrt breaking for the family an hospital I remember how sick my pregnancy made mi an material ward was so patient with me they monitor me straight to the end an I almost lost my life I hope the family find peace

I believe the doctors did everything in their power,at the end everything is up to the almighty and we should trust in his decisions

My aunty almost loss her and child’s live cause neglect that she received slbmc and we had to threaten law suit to actually get care
This press release/statement is saying absolutely nothing.
It’s as if they see us as a bunch of gullible idiots.
My simple questions are; 1. Did this woman die whilst giving birth?
2. Did she die before giving birth?
3. Did she die after giving birth?
4. Was it a natural delivery or she had a C-section?
5. Who performed the C-Section, her private doctor or the hospital doctor?
6. If it was a natural delivery, who did the delivery?
The list of questions goes on and on. Did the press release provide an answer or explanation to any of the above questions???
It’s time that we start taking legal action against the hospital and these doctors!
Some of them don’t give a sh!t about us.
Respect her wishes about what? She didn’t want to be under ventilator. Sometimes I believe people just okay Russian Roulette with people’s lives
No one is perfect. Doctors can mistake. They are human beings like anyone else.
However, the concern lies with how the authorities handles these contentious matters with very little transparency & accountability.
They appear to be pushed under the table, thus causing the bereaved parties to be left dissatisfied.
