The Government of Antigua and Barbuda has purchased a new large-scale stage as part of what Prime Minister Gaston Browne described as continued investment in the country’s creative arts infrastructure.
In a social media post, Browne said the government is “investing heavily in the infrastructure and ecosystem for the creative arts,” noting that the newly acquired stage will be followed by additional investment in sound and lighting equipment.
The prime minister said the upgrades are intended to enhance festival production and keep pace with regional and international standards.
“Above is a massive stage purchased by GOAB, to be followed by an investment in sound and lighting, to level up our festivals production,” Browne wrote, adding that the move is aimed at keeping up with competition.
The announcement comes as Antigua and Barbuda continues to position its festivals and cultural events as key components of its tourism and entertainment offering.

Who will be responsible for maintaining them?
At what cost was that purchased?
Did it go to tenders since it is more that the amount which could be purchased on small warrants ot LPO.
Who is the middleman in the purchase?
Where is that being stored and at what cost since the government doesn’t have the storage space.
Why was that more of an urgency tgat completion of the car park and repairs to the All Saints Clinic?
This is a good move by the government to bring the country up to the standards of others in the region and beyond.
The stage that is currently used is way too small for events like carnival and lack some of the modern amenities one See’s on the international stage.
Sensible investment. This should reduce Carnival debt in the long run.
Gaston is smartly advised by some racist, the way to control black people without any socioeconomic ideology is through religion and music, so he working on the one nation concert and other wink up jamming to keep a group of smoke heads passive while he help himself and his white friends to wealth.

While I often observe that Prime Minister Gaston Browne is quick to criticize locals (Those of 6th Generation birth in Antigua and Barbuda); he quite often makes positive statements about whites as well as sometime our Caribbean brothers and sisters.
I’m neither a psychologist or psychologist but I’m guessing the Prime Ministers state of mind may be a result of his youth and childhood experiences which are publicly known.
While we may be prone to criticize the Prime Minister much of the criticism belongs elsewhere.
If A Person are given a job; and the people who got him or her the job see that person get promoted, for they know how to talk.
When that person then turn and criticize those that got him/her the job day in day out; and they have reason believe him/her is dipping into the cash register.
When the white customers pilfer and steals and get discounts from that person who you got the job and is now supervising.
When it become apparent the company is loosing money and everyone has to take a pay cut or can’t get a raise.

Well this country is really a festival country……….Parents invest in their kids education for them to get employment and better themselves, but this government has nothing to offer these kids when they get out of high school an college…………Antigua people do we really deserve this stupid government in this age and time 2026??
Gaston Browne has carte blanche to do as he pleases and i agree with him. The electorate was bought and paid for so just take what you all get a shut up. Even the Benedict Arnolds and Judases who were with UPP namely Anthony Smith and this joker Dwayne George was consumed by the filthy lucre and position in his Administration
And that’s a very good investment to make. It will certainly reduce cost in the long run
