A food business in Antigua has issued a public warning after falling victim to a catering scam involving identity theft.

The Chef Xperience 268 said it was targeted by scammers posing as a customer named Salem Hadeed. A large last-minute catering order was placed, prompting the business to waive its usual deposit policy.

After preparing the order, staff were unable to make contact for delivery and later discovered the request was fraudulent. The real Salem Hadeed confirmed his name had been used repeatedly in similar scams across the island.

The perpetrators are reportedly using multiple phone numbers and both male and female voices to target food service providers.

The business has urged others not to fulfil orders under the name “Hadeed” without confirmed identification and a deposit. The matter is now under investigation by the Criminal Investigation Department.

  1. Lol as soon as r u see hadeed, all protocols go out the door. Mek ah min one pickey head place the order, all rules would apply. Realistically speaking, who takes such a large order without a deposit.

  2. The businesses should bare the lost , because they tip toe around their own business protocol to get white validation when they heard the name hadeed, they wouldn’t be doing the same for a black person.
Is so they put a white savior for us to worship and we feel we going places once we can run shoulder with white people.

  3. @Elread ..Are you so ignorant for real? Mostly all food business in Antigua get call from costumers placing orders ahead. Lot of them get call and costumers don’t pick up their order or give ridiculous excuses why they didn’t show up. Is not about names. I have a friend that have a food business and they even don’t know who call, but they put the order trough. This tendency to call just to mess with local just for fun and/or envy. They even use Private Number for calls. Is pretty funny how you just jump to Ohhh this is White validation. Dam man, just grow up about this racism trend of your comments and stop that victimization card.
