ST. JOHN’S, Antigua — Antigua Cruise Port has been nominated for the Caribbean’s Best Cruise Terminal 2026 award at the World Cruise Awards, with operator Global Ports Holding encouraging the public to cast their votes.
The nomination recognizes Antigua Cruise Port’s continued investment in cruise infrastructure and its efforts to enhance the visitor experience.
Global Ports Holding also announced that Nassau Cruise Port in The Bahamas has been nominated in the same category.
“We’re proud to see two of our Caribbean cruise terminals nominated at the World Cruise Awards,” the company said in a social media post.
According to Global Ports Holding, the nominations reflect its focus on operational excellence, exceptional guest experiences and long-term investment in world-class cruise infrastructure.
The company thanked supporters of its ports and encouraged the public to participate in the online voting process for the 2026 awards.

Antigua home porting terminal facility is the best. They had a soft opening earlier this year. It is one of the few ports with a green space- well manicured lawns and nicely landscaped. It was well maintained both inside and out last home porting season. Looking forward to this season with a further increase in arrivals , overnight tourists and general improvements of the passengers experience. Congrats to Global Port owners, management and staff. We are looking forward to you to continue offering training and support to our taxi drivers and vendors and citizens of Antigua and Barbuda.
To all Antiguans as the world faces several negative political challenges, that can negatively affect our economy , let us take pride in this beautiful country. Let’s protect our tourism industry.
To the government you have been doing a great job. However, don’t let this begin without having mounted security cameras at strategic locations around St.Johns and Antigua . The criminal elements that are setting their minds on targeting our visitors must be stopped in their tracks. We cannot afford to be blacklisted by the USA , warning its citizens not to come to Antigua for security reasons. Again big up to Global Port management.
Congratulations to the Owners and management of Global Port. Last season you had a soft opening of your Home Porting Terminal . It was beautiful both the structure, the well manicured lawns and beautiful landscaping. I have never seen a porting terminal with a green space so close to the pier, awesome. Looking forward to the opening of the rest of that facility for this season as promised.
We are also grateful for ongoing training you have been providing all stakeholders. We are living in a world where geopolitics and wars can negatively affect our economy. So let us as Antigua protect and improve our tourism industry.
As citizens we need to present a clearer Antigua. Stop the littering. We also need some beautification along the highways and create some green spaces.
What someone sees has a lasting effect. We need to do something about that car park at east bus station immediately. PM let Turner lead in the redevelopment of the east bus station area . That should include the botanical garden, the sporting facilities, country pond etc .
We also need to install security cameras in and around St.Johns before this cruise ship season begins. With the increase in criminal activities and the daring day time robberies, we need to do everything possible to stop those criminal elements in their tracks. Cameras must be strategically located throughout Antigua and Barbuda to assist with the protection of both our locals and visitors to our shores.
If we do not act swiftly, these criminals can easily do like they did at Freemans Village and I’ll cause Antigua to get blacklisted. Recently I have seen the USA taking a very strong stance in warning its citizens from doing to certain countries, that includes several of our Caribbean neighbors. Let us prevent going on that list by being proactive from a security standpoint.
