Antigua Cruise Port, in collaboration with AIDA Cruises, welcomed students from St. John’s Catholic School aboard the cruise ship AIDAperla for an educational visit aimed at introducing young people to careers in the maritime and tourism sectors.
Hosted by the ship’s crew and led by Aubrey Miranda, general manager of AIDAperla, the visit gave students hands-on exposure to cruise operations and an overview of the wider maritime industry, officials said.
Antigua Cruise Port said the initiative forms part of its ongoing youth engagement and education efforts, designed to highlight the importance of the cruise sector to the national economy while encouraging students to explore future career pathways in tourism and maritime services.
As part of the Global Ports Holding network, Antigua Cruise Port said it continues to support programmes that strengthen links between education, community development and the cruise industry.
