Antigua Carnival Parade Halted Early Due to Electrical Safety Concern
The Antigua and Barbuda Festivals Commission wishes to advise the public that the Carnival Parade was brought to an early close today due to an unexpected electrical issue that posed a potential safety hazard along the route.
In the interest of public safety, the Commission made the decision to suspend the remainder of the parade in accordance with our commitment to ensuring the well-being of all patrons, participants, and service providers. This precautionary measure was taken in consultation with the Antigua Public Utilities Authority (APUA) and Law Enforcement officials.
We understand the disappointment this may cause, but safety remains our top priority. The Commission extends its sincere gratitude to all masqueraders, bands, vendors, and spectators for their understanding and cooperation.
We also wish to thank the Royal Police Force of Antigua and Barbuda and all security personnel for their swift response and dedicated service in maintaining order and ensuring the safety of the city during today’s events.
Further assessments will be conducted to ensure that future events remain safe and enjoyable for all.
We thank the public for their continued support and look forward to the remaining events of the Carnival season.

I heard someone was electrocuted. I am not sure how true that is but I don’t see the need for carnival anymore. We have lost the true meaning behind it. All i see is danger, bottom in the road and wastage. I hope my people change their minds about Carnival. It is just not worth it anymore
It is Carn-i- val. All about carnality. The heart of ,an is hell bent set on doing evil. Even if the world crashes on the people at carnival, they will crave for it.
It is just the human nature: set on evil. There is ABSOLUTELY NO GOOD IN CARNIVAL.
Carnality is about the flesh. The people just want to party and enjoy the fleeting pleasures. No concern for the righteous way of living.
The Majority of humanity is on the dangerous path to destruction. Wide is that path of evil…and many…MANY there be that follow it. Narrow is the path to peace and life. Only a few will chose this path.
The Bible states that at the end of times knowledge will increase. Indeed it has. However, wisdom certainly has decreased. We reject the SOURCE of RIGHTEOUS KNOWLEDGE and instead sold ourselves to the vanities of this world. We sow the seeds of evil and still expect to reap good results. How preposterous!
What profit is it to gain the world and lose your soul?
Many want to have it both ways: one foot in the world and the other foot professing saintliness. It JUST DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY. We are either FULLY FOR ONE WAY OR THE OTHER. NO MIDDLE GRUND….NO FENCE SITTING.
This world will get TERRIBLY WORSE: EVIL UPON EVIL. The people ( except for a minority) will continue to travel down the path of selfishness, greed, violence, pride and vanity.
Time to wake up, people: This carnival this is a SIN from the pit of hell. Get your house in order.

If it’s done properly , if we stop been so naked on the street, if everyone stop charging vendors so damn much,when all we are doing is trying to pay the bills and put a meal on the table. Carnival has definitely deteriorated. I expected to see T, Shirt Mass??? ,not bottom., also better organization,for instant trees should not be cut the same day of the parade more over ,the root should have been lit,. Vendors got a rough deal yesterday,it was a lost. Please bring back Carnival to what is was or just stop it all together.
Instead of stopping the parade they could have simply diverted the parade through a different route.
On a side note, I think that this year’s T=Shirt mass left alot to be desired. It seems to lack the frolic, vibes and organization of previous mass.

There is an easy fix. Move carnival parades and jamming out of St. John’s. This is not rocket science. Carnival has outgrown the city. Trucks are too large and crowds are out of control. Give them space to jam and misbehave in prace..
