PM Browne: Antigua & Barbuda Ready to Embrace Crypto as US Policy Shifts
Prime Minister Gaston Browne has said Antigua & Barbuda is prepared to embrace cryptocurrency and blockchain technology, noting that the US stance on digital assets has shifted with the change in administration.
Speaking on Pointe FM, Browne highlighted the evolving regulatory landscape, stating that former US President Donald Trump was more open to cryptocurrencies compared to current policies under President Joe Biden.
“We are watching that space to see how it develops, and where the opportunities arise, Antigua & Barbuda will be one of the first movers,” he said.
He emphasized that the country already has a Virtual Assets Act in place and remains positioned to capitalize on blockchain advancements while maintaining regulatory safeguards.
“We have the infrastructure, but we are very cautious about how we onboard businesses to avoid attracting bad actors,” Browne explained.
The Prime Minister pointed to real estate tokenization as one area where blockchain could create investment opportunities, allowing properties to be sold in fractional shares via digital assets.
While reaffirming Antigua & Barbuda’s commitment to financial security, Browne made it clear that the country intends to embrace cryptocurrency innovations as global policies continue to evolve.

It is sad when in an attempt to control free speech a political operative creates his own “news portal”. This would not have been too bad. What makes the idea frightening is when the so called Journalist promote ideas intended to benefit the owner.
You have mistakenly floated the idea that American policy is drifting towards crypto currency. That’s not true. The actions of a criminal minded American president is not American principle nor policy. Days before Trump was sworn in as president he and his wife created their own crypto currency. It was specifically intended to contravene policies of the American constitution which restrict certain behavior of the president. By creating his own currency Trump can now receive personal funds from gangs, drug cartels and sanctioned governments. It is strictly a move intended to benefit Trump and his wife and not an American policy shift.
I am aware that certain members of our government would love for this to become the norm. As it stands our government officials ought not to receive personal gifts that exceed a certain amount. However in an attempt to mask their corrupt ways they have created charities in which they are the lone and only trustee. In that way gift and large sums of money can be channeled through the charities to their personal accounts. It is criminal and corruption being legitimized.
I therefore call on the principle of this news portal to emunequivocally distance himself and the government by extension from this most outrageous statement. The government cannot and should not condone corruption. It should not be seen under the blankets with criminals. It’s officials should nor promote corruption for personal gains. Let it be known that what will benefit America will sink our feeble economy. We cannot go head to head with an American corrupt leader in promoting corruption.

Unfortunately, this is where the banksters gangsters that runs the world are headed. And, unless all the people’s of the world rejects the digital technocracy that’s coming it will continue to move forward. Imo, too many have already embraced it. Since the A&B government is so iinclined to jump on board, I hope they’re planning on offering classes to the citizens on how to navigate these waters. Everyone needs to get a fair chance at knowing how they can make money through this medium; and, I would think a good portion of the population do not have a clue on how to get started in such a venture.
So heres to free classes on Crypto/Blockchain/ AI etc. Offer the people the tools they’ll need.

WHY go through the hassle of creating ypur own Cryptocurrency to receive illegal monies?
All transactions on it are publicly viewable. Anything that happens points back to ypu.
Why not just create 1 or a series of Bitcoin/Bitcoi Cash accts and funnel illegal monies through that.
Not to mention NO EVIDENCE AT ALL that Donald Trump is corrupt. Compare that to Joe Biden’s son, Hunter Biden’s laptop, Uclkraine, China, Power company board, “The Big Guy”, Joe firing Investigators through threats to foreign leaders etc ….

@Straight Shooter – That is pure rubbish. Trump’s stance overall has been that of allowing crypto to prosper, even before re-elected. He has proposed that the US create a strategic Bitcoin reserve and broadened it to more than Bitcoin. He has reigned in the SEC which sought to kill crypto allowing their wall street friends to control all the money. Individual states are also making great strides towards adopting cryptocurrencies and on top of all that, he has banned Central Bank Digital Currencies which is keeping the power in the hands of the people and not the federal govt.
