On the occasion of International Youth Day, the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party Central Youth for Labour (CYFL) embarked on a remarkable initiative to give back to the community and empower the youth.

With a strong focus on service, CYFL members joined forces at The Soup Kitchen to provide a heartfelt and impactful lunch for those in need.

Uniting for a Meaningful Cause

CYFL, the youth arm of the Antigua Barbuda Labour Party, demonstrated their commitment to creating positive change in their community by organizing a collaborative effort to serve lunch at The Soup Kitchen.

Over 20 enthusiastic young individuals dedicated their time and energy to ensure that the most vulnerable members of society were provided with a nourishing meal.

 

A Culinary Showcase of Compassion

The volunteers went above and beyond in preparing a diverse and delicious lunch spread that showcased both their culinary skills and their compassionate hearts. The menu featured an array of dishes including white dumplings, spaghetti, chop-up, potato salad, coleslaw, fried dumplings, Shark, and desserts.

Senator Shenella Govia, President of the Central Youth For Labour, shared her inspiring perspective on the importance of service.

“Volunteering is more than just contributing time; it’s about sharing a piece of your heart and leaving a lasting impact,” Senator Govia emphasized.

She encouraged fellow youth to recognize the power of service and how their actions today lay the foundation for a brighter tomorrow.

 

Support from Within

In a remarkable show of support for the youth’s endeavors, Senator Clement Antonio, Third Vice Chairman of the ABLP and one of the youngest Senators in the Upper House of Parliament, sponsored the day’s lunch menu at The Soup Kitchen.

Celebrating International Youth Day, CYFL conveyed a resounding message to fellow young individuals.

They celebrated the vigor, energy, and potential of youth and lauded the ABLP’s legacy of nurturing and empowering young leaders.

The organization highlighted their track record of appointing groundbreaking young senators, parliamentarians, and diplomats who are reshaping the future with innovative ideas and fresh perspectives.
