Antigua & Barbuda High Commission London, United Kingdom and Tourism Authority UK & Europe launch a diaspora podcast for the 44th Independence | “Solid, Stable, Soaring”
In celebration of Antigua and Barbuda’s 44th anniversary of Independence under the national theme “Solid, Stable, Soaring,” the Antigua and Barbuda High Commission in London today launches Voices on the Diaspora in the United Kingdom, an inspiring new podcast series produced in collaboration with the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Board (UK & Europe Office).
Running throughout November, the series spotlights Antiguans and Barbudans shaping British life across marketing and event promotion, business and entrepreneurship, the creative arts and music, and education, sharing stories of purpose, perseverance, and pride. The first video launches today, featuring Ms. Michaela Vivian; a dynamic, charismatic creator and presenter who has carved her name into the digital landscape with an authentic, fearless, and fiercely uplifting voice
“Solid foundations are built by people,” said Her Excellency Karen-Mae Hill, High Commissioner of Antigua and Barbuda to the United Kingdom. “Our diaspora’s talent and generosity strengthen the bedrock of our nation. By sharing their journeys, we connect hearts and harness skills – so Antigua and Barbuda can remain solid, stay stable, and keep soaring. Just as importantly, this platform invites every generation, especially our third-generation Antiguans and Barbudans growing up in the UK to immerse themselves in, embrace, and carry forward our culture.”
Cherrie Osborne, Director of Tourism (UK & Europe), added: “Tourism is powered by people and stories. This collaboration amplifies the voices of our community, builds pride, and opens practical avenues for cultural exchange, skills transfer, and travel. We want UK-based Antiguans and Barbudans and their friends to feel a renewed pull to the islands, to visit more often, invest more deeply, and share our culture more widely.
Conceived as a living bridge between diaspora and home, the podcast maps tangible routes for collaboration, mentorship, and knowledge exchange spanning UK classrooms and boardrooms, studios and stages, start-ups and social enterprises.
