On July 2, 2024, the Antigua & Barbuda Defence Force (ABDF) will deploy a team for the Caribbean Disaster Relief Unit (CDRU).

The team, led by Commander D. Davis as Mission Deputy, will include Sgt. Davis E. and will be supported by a four-man team from the Royal Police Force of Antigua & Barbuda.

They will embark aboard the SVG motor vessel Mulzark to St. Kitts before deployment.

In coordination with the National Office of Disaster Services (NODS), the ABDF will also transport relief supplies to affected islands in the region.

Additionally, a security team from the ABDF will embark on a mission to Grenada and St. Vincent & the Grenadines to gather additional personnel before proceeding to St. Vincent for disaster relief.

Lieutenant A. Jacobs will lead the contingent of 18 ABDF members, with support from Regional Security Systems troops. They will board the Bajan vessel Trident and be stationed in Barbados before their onward deployment to islands affected by Hurricane Beryl.

The ABDF plays a crucial role in humanitarian assistance, disaster relief, and regional security, working closely with organizations such as CDEMA through NODS and the RSS.
