A delegation of the local Chamber of Commerce held high-level discussions with the newly appointed Indian High Commissioner to CARICOM, H.E. Dr. K.J. Srinivasa. The members of the private sector took the opportunity to welcome Dr. Srinivasa and his second in command, Mr. R.K. Perindia on their first official visit since the High Commissioner’s recent posting.
Among matters discussed were the burgeoning Indian economy, and the attendant business
opportunities which exist to partner in a number of industries, as the world’s 5th leading economy seeks to enlarge its footprint in CARICOM. The Chamber members learned of prospects for trade and investments in biotechnology, oil and gas, renewable energy, education, health, agro-processing, and pharmaceuticals among a host of others.
The Chamber welcomed the occasion for increased trade and investment, and looks forward to holding further and wider discussions on concretizing the opportunities on offer to benefit the business sector in Antigua and Barbuda.
