
Senior Foreign Service Officer Zeina Hechme has been commended for her professionalism as she prepares to take up a new overseas posting with Antigua and Barbuda’s diplomatic mission in Canada.
Ms Hechme will serve as Vice Consul at the Antigua and Barbuda Consulate in Toronto, working alongside newly appointed Consul General Gail Christian. Her departure was marked on Friday with a farewell at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Foreign Affairs Minister E.P. Chet Greene praised her dedication and work ethic, saying her advancement also opens opportunities for other officers within the ministry. Permanent Secretary Ambassador Dr Clarence Pilgrim described the posting as a positive step in her diplomatic career.
High Commissioner to the United Kingdom Karen-Mae Hill urged Ms Hechme to ensure her work abroad continues to add value to Antigua and Barbuda and its people. Director General for Foreign Affairs Ann-Marie Layne, a former Deputy Consul General in Toronto, encouraged her to remain people-focused and resilient, highlighting the importance of service to the diaspora.

Colleagues also offered congratulations and best wishes as Ms Hechme begins her new role in Canada.
