Antigua and Barbuda’s Citizenship Programme Praised for High Standards
Antigua and Barbuda’s Citizenship by Investment Programme (CIP) has been hailed as a regional benchmark for due diligence and professionalism, according to officials at a recent diplomatic briefing at the Royalton Hotel.
Chairman of the Citizenship by Investment Unit (CIU) Jeff Hadeed and CEO Charmaine Donovan said the programme continues to draw praise during international reviews, with Donovan highlighting a recent UK inspection where officials lauded the unit’s transparency and efficiency.
Despite an increase in the minimum investment threshold last August—from US$100,000 to US$230,000—Donovan reported that interest in the programme remains strong, with over 2,000 applications already filed in 2024. She noted that many applicants moved quickly to submit before the price hike, but demand has since remained steady.
Antigua and Barbuda’s CIP remains attractive in part due to its minimal residency requirement—just five days.
Addressing recent scrutiny from the US, Donovan said there had been policy alignment under previous administrations, but noted uncertainty under current Trump-era policies affecting all five Caribbean countries offering similar programmes.

We need strong women like Charmain at the helm
Tell that to trump when he comes knocking. Recall that Trump is now selling golden visas
Certainly not as scandelous or corrupt as the Dominica CIP programme
EU Visas loading….Uk Visa loading. If visa was imposed on Trinidad and they don’t have CIP, we are next
Proud to know that a female is at the helm, just like a female is at the helm of the UPP as defacto leader.
Can we get the CIP accounts for the last 6 months laid before parliament?

@Stone, where is your data to show that the Dominica CBI is corrupt. You might just be another Dominican working hard to tarnish the name Dominica based on your politics. You quickly believe what was presented here but if the same information was presented on behalf of Dominica you would call it a lie.
