Following business meetings with regional travel trade partners at SMART in St. Maarten, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) continued its regional outreach with a visit to St. Kitts from March 2โ4, 2025, with a strong focus on promoting the upcoming CHTA Caribbean Travel Marketplace to be held in Antigua.
Joined by Antigua and Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association Executive Director Patrice Simon, Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association President Sanovnik Destang, and CEO Vanessa Ledesma, as well as LIAT 2020′ CEO Hafsah Abdulsalam and Chief Commercial Officer Tosan Bani, the ABTA team led by Director of Tourism for the Caribbean and Latin America, Charmaine Spencer, hosted a destination presentation and lunch for key media and travel trade partners.
The team shared the latest updates on Antigua and Barbuda and the destinationโs exciting calendar of events for 2025, particularly the Caribbean Travel Marketplace, the regionโs premier tourism b2b event scheduled for May 18 – May 22.
Media interviews were also arranged to engage with the St. Kitts public, raising awareness and excitement about the destination and encouraging attendance at Caribbean Travel Marketplace.
Among the destination’s signature events also highlighted were Antigua Sailing Week (April 27 – May 2), the new Antigua and Barbuda Culinary Month set for May, Antigua Carnival (July 25 – August 5), and Antigua and Barbuda Art Week (November 26 – December 2).
During the visit, the team also met with Deputy CEO of the St. Kitts Tourism Authority, Melnecia Marshall, and Marketing Communications Manager, Jonette Boyd, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen regional tourism partnerships.
Following St. Kitts, the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authorityโs regional outreach will continue with a visit to Dominica.
