The Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority (ABTA) has concluded the first leg of its Caribbean and Latin America trade and consumer roadshows with events in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from 1-4 February 2025.
Representing ABTA were Charmaine Spencer, Director of Tourism for the Caribbean and Latin America, Matara Thomas, Administrative Executive, and Alfonsina Olmos, Marketing Assistant.
The initiative aimed to boost awareness of Antigua and Barbuda while promoting new travel options via Caribbean Airlines and Frontier Airlines.
ABTA participated in the TWS Travel Fair 2025 on 1-2 February, engaging with over 5,000 attendees.
Visitors learned about Antigua and Barbuda, interacted with ABTA representatives, and received promotional giveaways. Industry stakeholders included Arlenes Garcia of Sandals International, Mairobis Tamayo Fuentes of Caribbean Airlines, and Fernando Vazquez of Frontier Airlines, which will launch a direct San Juan-Antigua route on 15 February.
On 3 February, ABTA attended a travel agents’ dinner hosted by Caribbean Airlines, providing updates and fostering industry relationships.
Charmaine Spencer stated: “Increasing our presence within key regional markets is a top priority in our strategy to drive tourism growth.”
ABTA will continue its regional outreach with upcoming roadshows and events, including the Caribbean Travel Marketplace in Antigua, Antigua and Barbuda Restaurant Week, and Antigua Carnival.
