The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has approved the hosting of the Caribbean–European Union (EU) Parliamentary Assembly, scheduled to take place in Antigua and Barbuda from 14 to 20 February 2026.

The Assembly will bring together parliamentary representatives from Caribbean states and the European Union and represents an important opportunity to strengthen political dialogue, parliamentary cooperation, and international partnerships.

The hosting of this high-level meeting also aligns strategically with Antigua and Barbuda’s ongoing preparations and institutional readiness for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) 2026.

Cabinet has designated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs as the lead coordinating Ministry for the planning and execution of the Assembly.

The Ministry will work closely with the Parliament of Antigua and Barbuda, the Office of the Prime Minister, and all relevant Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, including National Security, Tourism, Immigration, Transport, and Works, to ensure the successful delivery of the event.

In addition, Cabinet approved that the CHOGM 2026 Coordinator, Mrs. Roberts-Morgan, collaborate closely with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordinating and executing the hosting of the Assembly.

Existing coordination mechanisms, logistical frameworks, and inter-agency arrangements established for CHOGM 2026 will be utilized to support planning and implementation.

Cabinet has further directed the establishment of an inter-ministerial coordinating mechanism or task force to oversee preparations and ensure the timely fulfillment of all host country obligations.

The Government of Antigua and Barbuda looks forward to welcoming regional and international parliamentary delegates and reaffirming the country’s commitment to diplomacy, multilateral cooperation, and international engagement.

  1. Rammstein – We’re all living America, America It’s wonderful, we’re all living in America, America, America….

Take a listen to the chorus of that song it’s a German metal rock band with a message…..

  2. Just don’t make Gaston speak at this meeting!!
Apart from his arrogant tone his credibility has been shot. Let the other Ministers speak please!!!
ABLP needs a new leader. Please read the tea leaves people!!! This chapter of ABLP leadership is done. The longer we stay to realize it the more difficult it becomes!!!

  3. Time to commence fixing All Saints Road,it is a disaster. The poor planning continues. Just cannot imagine that millions of dollars are spent on concrete roads and this major highway is left behind. PM the CIP program is going to dry up. Antigua passport has lost its value. The Caribbean region is loosing its appeal. The murder rate in Trinidad is sky high. Grenada next door has a low rate, peaceful and pleasant people. Yet the White House black listed Grenada as a destination. Why ? Is it retaliation for not allowing the US to use its airport to invade Venezuela. It was the first country that the USA had asked to take third country deportees and it had declined. We are heavily dependent the Chinese. The USA after paying no attention to our survival is now bullying the Caribbean into submission. This will take an economic toll on our region. I understand that the cruise lines have already started to shift destinations to Europe. Well no where is safe now, since the US went into the British border unannounced.
I say all of that to say, stop the wasting. Stop the bleeding. Stop the self enrichment. Who is constructing that road back of Jennings. Yesterday AMP must have made a million. It’s the most concrete trucks I have ever seen. Pm take a drive in the villages. Are these roads engineered properly. As a layman I see roads poured with concrete looking like a foot in depth. They have no expansion joints. So they are cracking up. Expansion joints prevents concrete from cracking as the day temperature changes snd the concrete expands or contracts. I will like to know who is the contractor that is doing that road in Jennings. Why is not the concrete coming from the government concrete plant.
The next road is Jonas road. It is the stretch of road from Mt. Joy service Station to All Saints Cross Road. That is another disaster as well. Then from Buckley’s cross road by KFC , through Buckley’s village, through Swetes Village, up to Romans Hill. These are the most important roads right now in Antigua that needs fixing immediately. So all these government ministers and caretakers posting pictures of Johnson Village, of Liberta village, of All Saints East, of All Saints West, simply shows we are doing things for political mileage and not for nation building. By the way there is no mileage for using tax payers money and wasting it by giving your contractor/ supporters none tender contracts.
There is no more room for self enrichment. Well unless you want to follow the dictator’s route of a few rich and the masses living in poverty. Then get picked up by the USA . I guess the head of commonwealth, once mother England must me saying, it’s time for me to step back and recolonize. The head of state in these countries still answer to the king .

  4. I am not concerned what Antigua will or will not be hosting. I am concerned about the refugees Trump wants to send here and Gaston wants to accept without the people’s permission. I do not know what the money offer is but I believe it might be to good for these greedy people to refuse
