Antigua and Barbuda has been elected to chair the Association of Caribbean States (ACS) Special Committee on Transport for the first time.
The unanimous decision, taken at the committee’s 34th meeting, places the country at the helm of regional discussions on transport and logistics — areas seen as vital to trade, tourism and resilience across the Caribbean.
Dr Clarence E. Pilgrim, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Trade and Barbuda Affairs, will lead the committee for the 2025–2026 term.

The work programme includes modernising transport systems, expanding digital logistics, strengthening air and sea links, and promoting greater participation by women and youth in the sector.
Officials say Antigua and Barbuda intends to use the chairmanship to deepen cooperation with regional partners, international organisations and private investors, while aligning initiatives with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

Congratulations to Dr Pilgrim on his election to that top position in the region. He is the first Antiguan. Well done.
Seem like a good man, congratulations, hope he use the treason that ALP committed against LIAT when they sold out the early morning flight to Puerto Rico to Stanford airlines at the time.
LIAT was reliable where business is concern go down for 5:30 am and return same day 8 pm , and the ALP ask the liat board to surrender all that to Stanford which affected American eagle flight also.
