Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda Gaston A. Browne

Antigua and Barbuda is emerging as a key player in the Latin American and Caribbean economy, according to the latest United Nations Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) report.

The twin-island nation is projected to rank second in regional economic growth by the end of 2024, with a 6.3% increase in real GDP.

While Guyana leads the region with a 29.2% growth, driven by its oil and gas sector, Antigua and Barbuda’s performance remains impressive.

The nation is expected to retain its runner-up position in 2025, with a projected 4.8% growth, drawing attention from economists and investors.

  2. Oh for goodness sake @ GILES, this is another PREDICTION. Remember what happened with the last economic fiscal forecasts that 6 months later were incorrect and then spiralled downwards?

If in doubt just ask your fellow Gastonites Tenman and @ From The Sideline – or whatever he call he damn self nowadays.

Dem love ABLP forecasts and predictions…

“In terms of individual performances Guyana’s growth will outstrip all the others. This will fall from
52% in 2022 to 30% in 2023. For most of the countries, the performance in 2023 will be much less than
in 2022. For example, Anguilla will show a decline from 21.6% to 5.5%. Antigua and Barbuda will show
a decline from 8.5% to 7.6%, and the Bahamas from 8.0% to 4.1%. In the case of Barbados growth will
    fall from 10% to 3.5% in 2023. ”
Brix don’t be so lazy. Information is right at your finger tip. Or are you still hoping that I would not call you out when you’re spreading lies.
Antigua is and will be for some years now the second fastest growing economy in the Caribbean and Central America. Only Guyana with their new found wealth OIL will by far surpass everyone. Who knows how long this will last. Cause as you can see Venezuela with all its oil cannot have economic growth, because of US Sanctions. The USA decide who can eat and drink and have a healthy economy.
by the way I hope From The Sideline can answer you soon.

  4. I AM WONDERING.WHAT WOULD THE IMF REPORT SAY? THE ADMINISTRATION GIVES THE NUMBERS TO ECLAC.THEY DO NOT COME INTO ANTIGUA AS THE IMF DOES AND LOOK AT THE BOOKS THEMSELVES. THIS ECLAC NEEDS TO TO BE DUMPED A COOKS OR BE FLUSHED DOWN A LATRINE HOLE.

  5. I am not going to be an opposition for it’s sake, what I see is any island on the Caribbean that create extractive economy for foreign white companies, bam! You have high GDP, these international financial institution don’t recognize a small black business selling roast corn at the side of the road, only if that roast corn is exported to their country like how KFC comes in and do, so the American company selling LNG gas to the hadeed power station, and the purchasing of the said equipment for hadeed power station, and the number one is the land sales in Barbuda that are at 5 billion USD this day and on the stock market, none of us Antiguan or barbudans are part of that growth of the economy, just as in cane and sugar showed great economic growth that build the white world it the same happening, and these white people gives our politicians pittance to feel that they are part of the stuff, then Guyana with our stupid politicians allowing Exxon Mobil to literally take their oil for nothing, so their goes growth for white monopoly capital, so Guyana GDP will be touted wonderfully but the black masses life will not improve, they may give them U.S visa to run away from the country and not be concern about erfan Ali treachery.

  6. @ Less We Forget/From The Sideline, I was referring to the earlier speculations made this year to the present – and you know it!

Stop diverting from the downturn and REALITY in Antigua & Barbuda’s economy.

Good try though, but again you’re wasting your time by going back in time.

ARE YOU A TIME TRAVELLER? 😁
