Antigua and Barbuda Ratifies Air Services Agreements with France and Brazil

Antigua and Barbuda’s Parliament has ratified air services agreements with the French Republic and Brazil, formalizing bilateral arrangements aimed at strengthening air connectivity between the nations.

Tourism and Aviation Minister Charles Fernandez presented the resolution, explaining that these agreements are essential for expanding flight options and ensuring compliance with international aviation standards.

The agreement with France, signed on March 28, 2022, in St. John’s Antigua and Barbuda, facilitates direct and multi-stop flights while promoting commercial flexibility for airlines.

“These agreements represent a liberalized approach to civil aviation, ensuring the highest international standards of aviation safety and security while fostering a business-friendly environment,” Fernandez stated.

The agreements provide a framework for airline operations, covering key aspects such as designated routes, pricing, fair competition, taxation, and the transfer of funds.

Fernandez emphasized that Antigua and Barbuda continues to expand its network of air services agreements, enhancing connectivity and economic opportunities.
