NHC – Tropical Storm Philippe, currently located about 55 miles east-southeast of Barbuda, is forecasted to impact the Leeward Islands with heavy rains and potential flooding.
As of the 2:00 PM AST advisory, the storm maintains maximum sustained winds of 50 mph and moves northwest at 7 mph.
A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect for Barbuda, while Antigua is under a Tropical Storm Watch.
The storm’s center is expected to pass near or just northeast of the northern Leeward Islands, bringing the strongest winds and heaviest rains after the center passes.
