SOURCE: CHRISTIAN DAILY- The Evangelical Alliance of Antigua and Barbuda will host its annual Pray-Cade on Sunday, Aug. 17, calling residents to unite in prayer amid rising crime, particularly among the nation’s youth, the Antigua Observer reported.
Reverend Dr. Olson Daniel, president of the Evangelical Alliance and pastor at Wesleyan Holiness Church, said the prayer drive — now in its third year since being revived — is meant to proactively address the country’s social challenges rather than react to specific incidents.
“We don’t wait for something to happen to react,” Daniel told Observer Media. “This year, our route will span from the Old Parliament Building, down to Gray’s Farm and Five Islands, ending with a special time of thanksgiving.”
The event will begin at 2 p.m. at the Old Parliament Building, with participants encouraged to arrive early. The route includes several stops where prayers will be offered for national leaders, communities and protection against crime.

Daniel said the initiative, open to people of all faiths, seeks unity and spiritual intervention for Antigua and Barbuda’s future. “If you love Antigua and Barbuda, we invite you to be part of this important spiritual exercise,” he said.
With crime concerns growing, Daniel emphasized that prayer is essential to “healing the land.” Quoting Scripture, he added: “One will chase a thousand and two will put ten thousand to flight. This event is about joining forces, trusting God and believing that with His help, we can turn the tide on the crime wave.”

One cannot help but noticing the waning influence of the church these days. Even while the number of young people going to church is at a record low, they turned out in record numbers at Carnival shows and parties and the striking bikini and beads costume were the hit at Carnival. Yet the church remained silent. When the church is afraid to confront sin, it makes many believers comfortable living in it and the Church suffers. When sin is ignored, the church loses her prophetic voice and becomes powerless against darkness. The watching world sees hypocrisy instead of holiness. Pastors must start to preach the truth as this can only help our young people and adults alike and can bring the nation back into one of Godliness and love. At the end of the day, Heavens reward is worth more than earthly applause. The Church must live and preach the truth even if it costs the church its comfort because in the end, eternity is worth more than temporary pleasure. When we tolerate sin and fail to speak out, we grieve the Spirit and invite God’s judgement on us. Here me please!
Very good idea and I applaud the effort but you first have to pray these vagabonds and kleptocrats out of office that would be the ideal way to start, they are unchangeable. When that is done the crime and other ills will disappear and Antigua and Barbuda will again be the GEM of the Caribbean
It doesn’t matter who is in office crime is crime, what measures can the UPP put in place to eliminate crime? If carnival is there, casinos are there, prostitution is there, alcohol is there and substance abuse is there then crime will still be there. Will UPP stop all these events and close those institutions? People will steal to satisfy their dirty habits, it takes God and not Politics to make these changes. Man must turn to God for a change to come.

When the Top is slack, the Middle and Bottom will also be slack, the ones leading this nation is rotten to the core, but people such as you keep making excuses for them. Some of them get rich overnight you ever ask yourself how is that possible on their salaries, others in society just mimicking them, only difference they get caught, there is a saying, monkey see, monkey do. If prayer can change the top Antigua can rise again. But that is a big if
