Antigua and Barbuda PM Condemns Gaza ‘Genocide,’ Urges Peaceful Two-State Solution at UN

Prime Minister Gaston Browne of Antigua and Barbuda used his address to the U.N. General Assembly on Friday to denounce what he called “the genocide that has occurred” in Gaza, while urging the international community to prioritize peace, humanitarian access, and a two-state solution.

Browne called for the release of Israeli hostages held by Hamas but also condemned “the forced removal of people in Gaza from their homeland and the genocide that has occurred there.”

He stressed that humanitarian access “must be guaranteed and the protection of civilians made non-negotiable”.

Reaffirming his government’s position, Browne said Antigua and Barbuda “maintains its position in favor of a two-state solution, Israel and Palestine living side by side in security and dignity, consistent with United Nations resolutions”.

He criticized the decision to deny the chairman of the Palestine Liberation Organization a visa to attend the assembly in person, saying the U.N. must remain “a chamber for voices to be heard, not to be muzzled, especially during times of war and conflict”.

Browne’s remarks on the Middle East formed part of a broader appeal for diplomacy and respect for international law in global conflicts.

Turning to Ukraine, he said the war “must end in peace and with justice, not in the battle fatigue of the besieged,” calling for a return to diplomacy anchored in the U.N. Charter.

The Caribbean leader also pressed for sustained, coordinated support for Haiti, urging a single, Haitian-led stabilization plan financed through a transparent international fund.

He argued that piecemeal responses have worsened the country’s suffering.

Throughout his address, Browne framed Antigua and Barbuda’s foreign policy as one rooted in peace, human rights, and justice — principles he said were vital if the world was to be “better together,” the theme of this year’s U.N. session.

  1. Obviously 2 states isn’t peaceful when they currently have 2 states and are being segregated and genocide. Israel met a land which was already a country and just kick them out and killed many. Only solution is to dissolve the state of Israel and if the people really want to live on their holy land let them do it like how it was done were Jews, Christians and Muslims lived together in Palestine.

Haiti is the way it is because of USA and France mostly really unlikely with the current president of each will seek to make things right when both Macron and Trump looks down on the nation and black people as a whole.
Additionally the genocide in Sudan also needs to be brought to more people’s attention
