Minister Matthew addressed this year’s independence theme “From Community Collaboration to Global Gains”, underscoring the significance of the diaspora’s role in advancing Antigua and Barbuda’s interests on the world stage.

He commended the diaspora for their dedication and continued contributions, noting that their support is an invaluable asset to the nation’s ongoing progress and global recognition. “The achievements of Antigua and Barbuda are a testament to the strength of our shared identity and commitment. Through collaboration we expand our influence and reinforce our presence on the global stage”.

High Commissioner H.E. Karen-Mae Hill expressed her pride in the diaspora community’s commitment to Antigua and Barbuda, emphasising their role in preserving and celebrating the nation’s heritage.

“Our independence theme, ‘From Community Collaboration to Global Gains,’ resonates deeply within our diaspora here in the UK. Your dedication not only strengthens our connection to home but also ensures that our traditions and values are passed on to future generations. Together we are keeping the spirit of Antigua and Barbuda alive.”

Everton George, President of ABNA (UK), expressed his gratitude to the members of the association and all attendees for their support of the event. “I want to thank everyone who came out tonight to celebrate our nation’s independence with us,” he said.

It’s truly heartening to see such a strong turnout, especially from our younger community members. Their presence and enthusiasm mark a promising future for our association, as they carry on the legacy, culture, and pride in Antigua and Barbuda. Together, we’re building a foundation for continued membership and support for years to come.”
