10

Antigua and Barbuda shines as a top travel and tourism investment destination, ranking closely behind the U.S. Virgin Islands, as per the World Travel & Tourism Council’s 2023 Global Trends Report.

Despite pandemic challenges, the sector is rebounding, with 2022 witnessing an 11.1% rise in investment to $856 billion.

Resilience and innovation drive this recovery, with an 11.5% growth forecast for 2023 and a return to pre-pandemic levels by 2025.

Challenges arise from global interest rate hikes, urging public-private collaboration for sector reinforcement.

Antigua and Barbuda’s strong investment reaffirms its position as a catalyst for global connectivity and economic resurgence.

  1. Why publish this good news? Just remember the country is doing very badly. We are almost bankrupt. Just ask Brixtonian. This must be fake news.

  2. That is great news but all the articles I read about crime etc., I will not be returning and we LOVE the island and the people. It’s a shame because it has so much to offer. I so enjoyed going to the port with Lawrence, our go to Antiguan

    • And you are saying that, while Antigua and Barbuda have the LOWEST crime rate in the entire Caribbean. We are in the month of August and have only four murders so far for the year. And yes, one murder is one too many. So, you just find another reason to say why you won’t come back, but it’s not because of our low crime rate.

    • @B – just for sake of contrast I’ll buy you plane fare and a room to Milwaukee. You can witness anywhere from 4 to 12+ attempted homicides per day, 3-5 deaths from them a week.
Antigua doesn’t know what crime is…thank God Almighty.

  3. From The Sideline
Almost every article that comes across is about tape, robbery or murder. Low crime rate, not likely not from the articles I read. Love the island but as a tourist I don’t need to be put In A situation

    • Perhaps you should stop reading these articles then. Cause the facts says that it is not so. And I have given you the facts. Lowes crime rate in the entire Caribbean.

  4. Hold a minute there.

“Despite pandemic challenges, the sector is rebounding, with 2022 witnessing an 11.1% rise in investment to $856 billion?

$856 billion Globally, Regionally or In Antigua?

    Shouldn’t that be $856 million?

If that figure is pertaining to Antigua and Barbuda, the streets would be paved of gold.

Please make sure you are reporting correctly.

    • Why is it that you guys do not understand economic figures and ratios. Guyana has found oil, and its economy is the fastest growing economy in the world. Does Guyana have street of gold. Do Guyanese suddenly swim in money. Are their lives any better because of this? Guys and girls get educated.
