Press Statement on Labour Day Incident
The Leadership and Executive of the Antigua and Barbuda Labour Party are deeply saddened to report an unfortunate incident that occurred during the Labour Day 2025 Parade en route to Fort James.
Tragically, this incident has resulted in the death of an individual, whose identity is being withheld at this time until family members have been notified.
The Royal Police Force is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident, and we encourage anyone with information that may assist in the investigation to come forward.
As we participate in the Labour Day celebrations, we urge all attendees to prioritize safety and exercise caution. It is imperative that everyone contributes to creating a secure environment for all participants.
Once the family and loved ones of the deceased have been informed we will ensure that we reach out to offer our support during this incredibly difficult time.

Condolences to the family. On hindsight the same caution should be taken as carnival, the trucks should be properly skirted.
As Hon. Chet Green stated it’s painful. This is not a political issue, this is a family member that died tragically. Lift up the family , love one and friends in prayers .
They don’t care one lick! I live in Villa and can hear the music blaring from Fort. I would have thought that they would shut down everything. I guess the show must go one.

ABLP just want to see a ton a people. They don’t really care who dead. We have seen this situation happening since 1983 and such safety requirements are not law yet. But, when it comes to taxing us and self enrichment schemes,they right dey.
