In an effort to strengthen regional ties and address shared concerns, Antigua and Barbuda, along with 14 other Caricom member states, will participate in the inaugural “Canada-Caricom Summit” on Canadian soil.
The summit, co-chaired by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Dominica Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit, will run from October 17 to 19, celebrating Caricom’s 50th anniversary and emphasizing Canada’s Caribbean connections.
Leaders will focus on fostering cooperation, enhancing economic resilience, combating climate change, and addressing regional security issues, including the crisis in Haiti.
The summit also offers opportunities for economic collaboration and engagement with Canadian business leaders.
