Antigua and Barbuda Grants Visa-Free Entry to Panamanians

Citizens of Panama can now travel to Antigua and Barbuda without a visa, Prime Minister Gaston Browne announced Thursday, describing the change as “an oversight corrected.”

Browne made the announcement during the credential ceremony for Panama’s new ambassador, Ana Irene Delgado.

“Just as our people can visit Panama freely, so too can Panamanians now travel to Antigua and Barbuda without a visa,” he said.

The reciprocal visa waiver is expected to boost tourism, investment, and cultural exchange between the two nations. The Prime Minister noted the long-standing ties between Antiguans and Panamanians, tracing back to the early 20th century when many Caribbean nationals worked on the Panama Canal.

Ambassador Delgado welcomed the decision, calling it a positive step in strengthening economic and diplomatic cooperation.
