New Barbuda Airport Runway

The Antigua and Barbuda Government is expediting the new airport’s opening, with Prime Minister Gaston Browne and officials meeting ECCAA representatives.

Development Commissioner Ambassador Daven Joseph outlined a plan for international status and domestic flights, crucial for hurricane evacuations.

The airport, completed months ago, awaits ECCAA’s regulatory approval, but cooperation with the government signals imminent certification for international and domestic operations, crucial for anticipated domestic sector growth.

  1. Should ECCAA be either so stupid and corrupt that allow Gaston Browne to influence and intimidate them into approving the airport; then they too will be added to the lawsuit to stop the operation of this airport.

It would certainly damage their reputation as a review and approval body; snd illustrate to the wider world they are not a trusted indicator of safe airport operations.

Caribbean institutions are known for failing its people. To approve this airport is to add themselves to the list of failing Caribbean institutions.

The sponsors of this airport are suing each other in Colorado courts, local vendors are not getting paid. This is a failed project by every measure.

It’s now time for the Barbudan people to demand a cleanup and restoration of their environment before the Buccaneers pull out.

    • Going to be wild to watch your continued videos every month as PLH continues to develop. Such an interesting angle to call it a failed project as the company keeps hiring, building, and growing. Maybe they’re investing that money to attract more into the Ponzi scheme?

      • Many of their foreign staff have moved on; they are hiring cheaper replacement.
The are hiring weekly paid workers to replace the vendors they are not paying. That is not the definition of keep hiring.
The replacements they are hiring are a few people from the region like the Barbadian now responsible for back of the house activities.

Infrastructure and amenities like the golf course are grinding to a halt.

One thing they are not doing is growing. BOC clients were expecting to fly their private jets to the new airport that’s an FBO. The pan was that the moment they touched down it would be 15 minutes to be on the golf course.

The airport was promised for back in Thanksgiving, then Christmas and throughout the winter. That was the value proposition. I don’t know of any Pozzi scheme, maybe you do.
While the PLH/BOC owners are fight each other in court, sales have dwindled, work has slowed down, The Mexicans and the Belizeans are now working 5 days per week rather than 6 1/2 days per week.
Supplier in Antigua are pully back and Local vendors in Antigua and Barbuda are not getting paid. There is no other way to characterize PLH/BOC

You have a right to be comical; the reality and the facts are not part of a comic’s mind.

        • Very informative as per usual @ Barbuda J’aime. Many thanks, all the best 👍🏾

          BARBUDA FOR BARBUDAN’S 🇦🇬

  2. The rush is in vain. The Diddy Combs plane already landed here. Must go through all the official things it would not have if your airport was open. Ha, ha.
    Don’t play with fate

  3. Gaston Browne is at it again. Foolish promises, intimidate, deflect, blame.

The plan outlined by Daven Joseph is beyond laughable. Gaston is now putting one of his idiots up front to take his beating.
-He promised a private airport to PLH without the proper consultation, environmental reviews and approvals.
-He attempted to intimidate the Barbudans. Calling them every derogatory name imaginable. That did not work.
-He is deflecting with new promises to address his benign neglect of Barbuda. This is now a “hurricane evacuation airport”. This is beyond laughable, after putting guns at the head of Barbudans to turn Barbuda into a Disaster Opportunity for foreign developers. Gaston and Co. are too stupid to recognize the words “Hurricane Evacuation” are code words for taking their land.
    How stupid can they get.
One thousand (1000) adults and six hundred 600 children live in Codrington; many in walking distance to the Codrington airport.
Barbudans will have to find their way to the backwoods and shrubs in which this PLH airport is built. An Island with no public or group transportation.

The plan outlined by Daven Joseph is beyond laughable. The PLH purchasers and temporary workers are not part of the domestic population. Don’t start playing that game. They are Transients.

As P Diddy said: it’s all about the “Benjamins” for Gaston and the idiots around him.

  4. This is about greed and stupidity.

Coco Point Lodge which is part of PLH/BOC development had an airport.

But the developers, some of whom are big wigs on Wall Street are too greedy. They excavated the Coco Point landing strip to turn it into development lots that they sold.

What they are now faced with is the result of both greed and a prime Minister who misled them.
These Wall Street guys are mercenaries; don’t be surprised if they turn around and sue. And who will they sue. Antiguan taxpayers.

      • For the very same reason that the lawsuit was brought in the first place.
Yeah… If Gaston says it’s going to open, then it will open.

BTW: The article did not say the airport is opening.
It was a presentation of a revised plan from a dumb man to the dumb blind and deft crew. The article produced by Gaston Public Relations to fool the foolish; asserts that this fake plan will make it more acceptable to ECCAA’s regulatory approval.

        • Well said J’aime!! Bring it on as an “hurricane evacuation” need and it just might fly by lol…..the tactics!! Im just not understanding how many (still living with water shortages, electricity power cuts daily and roàds that make you buy new shocks as often as you change the oil in your caŕ) can STILL defend his actions!

  5. This attempt by the government just confirms they have no care for the rule of law! How can the gov expects its people to abide by the laws of the land when they are not adhering to the highest court of law? This just reiterate that the privy counsel needs to remain until ALP is out of power.

  6. There are types of governments that aren’t a democracy; become familiar with them for that’s what you have.
