The Cabinet of Antigua and Barbuda has allocated three acres in Yeptons/Cooks for the National Solid Waste Management Authority (NSWMA) to build a new headquarters and operational base.

Senator Michael Joseph, Junior Minister of Health and the Environment, highlighted that this facility will enhance NSWMA’s mission for a cleaner environment.

Additionally, plans include transforming the Cooks Landfill with a UK consultant’s expertise and importing specialized bins to improve waste separation and collection efficiency.

Recently acquired trucks and equipment will be operated by trained drivers, reflecting the government’s commitment to sustainable waste management and public health.
