Antigua and Barbuda Gears Up for Caribe Wave 2025 Tsunami Exercise
The National Office of Disaster Services (NODS) is inviting residents to participate in the annual Caribe Wave 2025 tsunami exercise, scheduled for Thursday, March 20, at 11:00 a.m.
This simulation aims to enhance community preparedness by teaching participants how to respond in the event of a tsunami. NODS is emphasizing the importance of recognizing warning signs, such as a strong earthquake or an unusual ocean retreat, and acting swiftly by moving to higher ground.
Residents and organizations interested in participating can register by calling 462-4206 or emailing [email protected] with details including the number of participants, their assembly area, and a designated contact person’s name, phone number, and email.
With an engaging approach to disaster preparedness, NODS encourages community-wide involvement to ensure Antigua and Barbuda remains tsunami-ready.
