Antigua and Barbuda Falcons have issued a formal apology to Cricket West Indies (CWI) after head coach Paul Nixon criticised the organisation’s handling of all-rounder Justin Greaves’ injury.
In a statement, the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) franchise said Nixon “totally regrets any and all remarks made” and stressed its commitment to maintaining “a strong and collaborative partnership with CWI… grounded in mutual respect and open, constructive dialogue.”
The apology follows Nixon’s comments after the Falcons’ eight-wicket defeat to Trinidad and Tobago on 27 August. He expressed frustration over a lack of communication about Greaves’ fitness, calling the situation “unprofessional” and “disrespectful”.
Greaves has yet to feature in this year’s CPL, his last appearance coming in West Indies’ ODI series win over Pakistan in August.

Nixon, who replaced Shivnarine Chanderpaul as head coach for the 2025 season, has led the Falcons to third place on the points table with three wins from seven matches and one no-result, an improvement on their fifth-place finish last year.
The Falcons face second-placed Saint Lucia Kings on Saturday as they aim to continue their strong campaign.
