
The Antigua and Barbuda Electoral Commission (ABEC) extends its condolences to the family of former Commissioner, Mrs. Glendina McKay, who passed away on February 1, 2026, at the age of 83.
Mrs. McKay was nominated by the United Progressive Party (UPP) and served with distinction as a Member of the Commissionfrom August 1st, 2013, to April 1st 2017. Throughout her tenure, she brought integrity, diligence, and a deep respect for democratic principles to the work of the Commission.
Her son, Mr. Victor McKay Jr., shared that “she took her tenure at ABEC very seriously and was very happy to play a role in shaping the democratic development of the twin island state”.
ABEC remembers Mrs. McKay as a committed public servant who approached her responsibilities with seriousness and pride.
Mrs. Mckay’s thoughtful contributions and steadfast dedication assisted in strengthening the Commission’s work and reflected her belief in free, fair, and transparent electoral processes. Her legacy of commitment to democratic development and public service will be remembered with gratitude and respect.
