The Permanent Mission of Antigua and Barbuda to the Organization of American States (OAS) presents its compliments to the Chair of the Permanent Council of the OAS and has the honour to advise as follows:
Several delegations have expressed curiosity regarding the appearance of a truck in the vicinity of the OAS headquarters, prominently displaying false and inflammatory statements concerning the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda.
In the interest of transparency and to dispel speculation, my delegation provides the following clarification:
Although the Government of Antigua and Barbuda is not the subject of an ongoing civil matter before the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, it has been drawn into the case by the applicant, who has filed suit against the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
The applicant, who is a relative of a Russian national currently subject to sanctions imposed by the United States, the United Kingdom, and the European Union, is seeking to subpoena the Government of Antigua and Barbuda under a statute that permits discovery in aid of foreign legal proceedings.
Rather than focusing their efforts on lawful process, the applicant’s team appears to have launched a public campaign aimed at smearing and pressuring the Government.
This has included a series of misleading social media posts, the creation of a false website and, most recently, the appearance of the truck in Washington, D.C. bearing similar disinformation.
That these theatrics coincided with the official visit of the Prime Minister of Antigua and Barbuda – alongside six other Caribbean Heads of Government – for discussions with U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio is unlikely to be mere coincidence.
It reflects a calculated attempt to distort public perception and to pressure a sovereign government through spectacle rather than substance.
In assuring the Chair of the Permanent Council of its highest consideration, the Permanent Mission of Antigua and Barbuda requests that this Note be circulated to the Missions of Member States and Permanent Observers.

“Although the government of Antigua and Barbuda is not…….against the Federal Bank of New York”, so why has the cabinet voted to use tax payers dollars to defend Gaston Browne in a matter against him?
Let it be noted that Sir Ron Saunders is acknowledging that it is a matter against Gaston Browne in his personal capacity.
The applicant is not seeking to subpoena the government.
This is a most disingenuous statement from a high ranking government official who at all times should be factual and truthful.
Sir Ron is asking the plaintiff to focus on the lawful process.
Isn’t the court the lawful process?
Sir Ron, all of this can quickly be brought to an end.
Government officials are not elected to enrich themselves.
The president of Burkina Faso told the entire world what his bank account reads.
If Gaston Browne is so transparent what is he fighting so hard to keep secret?
Why is he so opposed to telling his citizens the size of his bank accounts?
The greater the push back from Gaston Browne the more suspicions is focused on him.
Then to compound his attempts at secrecy he has gotten his cabinet colleagues to agree to use tax payers dollars to defend him.
That must attract the attention of Donald Trump.
Do you think he can deep into the treasury to satisfy civil judgements against him?
Never.
Ask the French presiden the consequence of such actions.
I am glad it has been discovered that this just may be a Russian ploy to further obfuscation.
We Caribbean people are one, our history defines that, and, Cuba and Venezuela are our sisters and brothers, and currently China funds many of our projects.
What does that first generation American Trump who cannot interpret the American dream, have in our business?
Desperation is deafening die all to here hear. It is obvious that members of the opposition are in cahoots with this Russian person to spread propaganda with the intention of sullying the name of Antigua and Barbuda. It will not work. People with any sense of civility and logic will rubbish this desperate and malicious action.
Well sue them!!! Waa? He only have “trang” for poor “likkle” Ivena??? And if you sue, use your own money.
Anybody who is working with Russian agents to bring down our country should be jail for life.
And just like that Antigua is caught up in a cold war between Russia and the West.
Just like how Putin helping Burkina 🇧🇫 Fado he is helping Antigua. Just waiting for a new opposition party to carry forward the new anti west agenda.
We do not want to be colonize by China.
