Antigua and Barbuda is celebrating Oklahoma City Thunder guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who has been named the 2024–25 NBA Most Valuable Player.
The 26-year-old, whose mother Charmaine Gilgeous represented Antigua at the 1992 Olympics, has become one of basketball’s biggest stars. His father, Vaughn Alexander, also played a key role in shaping his career.
Gilgeous-Alexander capped his stellar season by leading the Thunder to a Game 7 victory over the Indiana Pacers and claiming NBA Finals MVP—becoming the first Canadian to win the award.

Went through the the entire regular season and nothing, he was even pronounced MVP of the regular season, still nothing, went through the playoffs still not a clue.
In the NBA finals the man sat at the podium every night, nothing.
