As the curtains gracefully descended on Tourism Week, the gems of the Hospitality Industry in Antigua and Barbuda were honoured in a spectacular celebration.

A total of twelve awards were presented, with fifty-five nominees vying for recognition. The following highlights the noteworthy winners from the enchanting evening:

In a poignant moment, the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award was posthumously presented to Dennis Friday, Esq., and graciously accepted by his son, Andre Friday.

 

A revered figure in Antigua and Barbuda’s taxi industry, Mr. Friday’s illustrious career spanned over fifty-five years. Notable milestones include being the first taxi driver from Antigua to be honored in Spain for exceptional service and pioneering the first limousine company and 45-seater bus on the island.

 

Mr. Friday’s legacy embodies the essence of a remarkable taxi driver—responsible, locally savvy, punctual, and exceptionally hospitable. His profound knowledge of Antigua ensured safe and timely journeys for all passengers.

 

The Antigua & Barbuda Hotels and Tourism Association, The Ministry of Tourism Civil Aviation, Transportation and Investment, and the Antigua and Barbuda Tourism Authority extend heartfelt congratulations to all the deserving winners, making this celebration a true testament to the excellence within the vibrant hospitality landscape of Antigua and Barbuda.
