On the sidelines of the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly, Antigua and Barbuda’s Minister of Foreign Affairs met today with UK Minister Chris Elmore to discuss preparations for next year’s Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Antigua and Barbuda.
The two Ministers welcomed the strong collabvoration that is being demonstrated by their two countries as planning for the landmark event begins to intensify.
“Antigua and Barbuda is proud to host CHOGM next year and we are pleased to have such a productive partnership with the UK as we move forward with preparations,” said Minister Greene.
Their meeting also highlighted the Small Island Developing States (SIDS) Centre of Excellence, a flagship initiative of the Antigua and Barbuda Agenda for SIDS (ABAS). The Centre will provide a platform for innovation and solutions to advance sustainable development priorities across SIDS. Minister Greene advocated strongly for the UK to place its full support behind the initiative.

Both Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to advancing shared Commonwealth values and supporting the sustainable development goals of island nations as they seek to overcome their unique challenges.
Minister Greene is continuing a packed day of bilateral discussions with a number of other countries being represented at the global gather of leaders in New York that are expected to bring significant benefits to Antigua and Barbuda

Good going, time for Minister Greene to be given his deserved exposure. It can’t be about one man daily. Chet is also PM material too
Oops that’s bad, to want to further collaborate with your former slave master is adding more volume to their imposed neocolinial agenda, it’s an elongation exercise, that poor ANTIGUA politician is been infantilized and dealt with from a paternalistic supervision manner, when they come back to antigua they get on the radio to talk down to the semiliterate population and not knowing they are included, these white people when they go abroad just sit them down as a child and write up something for them to sign. It’s just performative politics and traveling all over the world on tax payers money.
