Antigua and Barbuda and China sign Agreement of Mutual Visa Exemption

1. Absolutely Ridiculous. Does anyone actually understand the implications for Antigua sovereignty the power dynamic. Please explain.

   China to have stake in State Media, Drugs, talking bout AI, and sign on to the Belt Initiative, whilst the sea waters already have cruise ship size trawlers scrape up our fish illegally. And we await an influx of Chinese student and teachings who never mix with our people yet.

   In reality our pickney still struggle to carry water home before school. Their own people begging not to be sent back there. Shame, jus shame. What left this administration have left to sell. The people already back into economic slavery. Only air we have left.

   Lord have mercy on us because in four more years there will be nothing but 20 generations of debt.

2. So all the 💩💩💩 supporters happy now? Just rename the country Chinese Antigua!
   Don’t start complaining when you get a Chinese boss, supervisor, office staff, surgeon, doctor or nurse barking orders at you! They now own AB tight! You’re about to become true slaves of China!
   You will never see another Caricom country sellout like this!
   Enjoy the Chinese domination!
   Oh, and think about how much $$$ are now in the foreign bank accounts of the 💩💩💩 group!

   • Barking at you? Wait.. How many Antiguans oen companies herr on the island and treat their workers like shit? I can give you lot of that example and nobody said a single word about it..I saw recently a Antiguan’s woman that have a Supervision position and the language she was using against some workers is disgusting in all levels..Denigrating them, cursing them..I felt like im in another’s dimensions of reality because that was painful a lot for me..and i wasn’t part of it.
     So look inside of what’s is going on internally first and stop arguing of future scenarios.

3. Owing to the lack of details which the Antigua and Barbuda citizens are unlikely to get anytime soon.
   The following are my interpretation of the Agreements. My interpretations and are not intended to impute the character or degrade the work of The Prime minister and his Delegation.
   Here we go:

   1. MOU on strengthening development cooperation and Promoting the Implementation of Global Development Initiative.

   INTERPRETATION: The Operative word is “GLOBAL”.
   The very bank reported to be financially under water; and that The PM is very protective of. Whose CEO was reported to have travelled into China just ahead of the PM Gaston Browne and his delegation.
   The Chinese has thrown it a lifeline by taking it over. Barbuda and others may get their money soon.

   2. Agreement of Mutual Visa Exemption
   INTERPETATION: An unlimited number Chinese will be allowed to travel and settle in Antigua and Barbuda without any review of their background. allowed to be include China emptying its prisons. Chinese has been accused by the US and UK of kidnapping Chinese in order to convince them to return to China. Given the foreign Chinese prisons have been exposed. Chinese now has an agreement and a place to render its citizens; better known as the Chinese Embassy building in Antigua.

   3. MOU on Jointly Accelerating the Formulation of the Cooperation Plan on the Belt and Road Initiative.

   INTERPRETATION: Under what the Chinese calls the Belt and Road Initiative. Antigua is granted A Letter of Credit in the form blanket agreement to borrow money as it wishes too, from the Chinese Government. With this agreement GOAB would tap the credit line with a simple one-page request signed by the Prime Minister. All terms and conditions are already agreed too.

   4. MOU on strengthening development cooperation and Promoting the Implementation of Global Development Initiative

   INTERPRETATION: Antigua and Barbuda will always be in lock step with on any and all Global issues. Example: If the Chinese puts most of the Caribbean in default and attempt to take full control of their economies under the Belt and Road Initiative loans. Antigua agrees to keep its mouth shut and cooperate with the Chinese.

   5. MOU between China Media Group (CMG) and Antigua and Barbuda Broadcasting Services (ABS)

   INTERPRETATION: Teaching ABS the fine art of State Media propaganda and controlling freedom of expression.

   6. MOU between Zhejiang International Studies University and UWI Five Islands Campus.
   INTERPRETATION: UWI Five Islands is like a trade school so some good can come out of this.

   7. MOU between Hangzhou Normal University and Antigua and Barbuda
   INTERPRETATION: There is nothing to interpret. One can only assume the what’s behind this MOU is nefarious; and should be kept secret from the people of Antigua and Barbuda

   • Very good interpretation of what is coming down on Antigua and Barbuda,Local people dont control the economy in this country,Its just completely mind boggling,with all the money that flows here.
     Syrians,Chinese,and also free visa access to countries in Eastern Europe that has no economic viability,I shudder to think what will become of A&B.Most of the young men here have mental conditions,no job,no home,no economy,and no way to escape this rock,evenif they wanted to…..amazing

4. And Browne continues to expect more free money from the UK and Europe to help. What happened to the previous funds? I will never donate to any suffering country again, it becomes pointless when money doesn’t reach the poor. Antigua will now be a slave to communist China.

5. When I hear that this administration signed any agreement, my heart cringe.
   It appears like they just sign agreements while they are asleep, so nothing is ever in there for the country or its people, but maybe those who are signing.?
   Every time I hear these people signing agreements, my heart shivers, because nothing good ever seemed to be in them for the country or people, except for those signing?.
   My view is: is it that they are not sure that they will win the next elections, so they are not only grabbing, selling out, destroying, and bankrupting the country, but endeavouring to make it a failed state and then remove themselves from being responsible for the mess they leave behind.?
   All be it, I know that we know that God nar sleep, slumber nar hab one eye.
   So,even the best dancers on the stage must retire sometime, and many a time, not only they, but their descendants, suffer one way or another for the … they deliberately made.

6. The Art Of War is shadowed by, The Art Of Deception!

   Has the Nation of Antigua, Barbuda & REDONDA become CHINA’s #TROJAN_HORSE in the CARIBBEAN?

   I cannot help, but laugh at how Our Nation is snuggling like newlyweds, in bed with China, as the Chinese denude the Nation. Lest we forget, not but FIFTY(50) years ago, the ACLM – The Afro Caribbean Liberation Movement was DEMONISED by the Government and Churches for being involved with the COMMUNISTS.
   The Chinese have not changed their POLITICAL AGENDA set by the likes of Mao Zedong who murdered millions of Chinese.
   Yes, I know, that the EUROPEANS and AMERICANS have done their share of MASS KILLINGS, but the Chinese are not just vacationing on our shores.

7. I’ve been on here over and over warning fellow Antiguan’s to “wake to hell up” with this corrupt, sellout government that we have here, and the majority just goes about their business like I’m just slinging mud at Gatson Browne.

   What the hell else can I say to pursuade y’all that there is no good intentions of this current administration to help it’s people, if that was the case, they would have already helped Antiguan’s already.

   When was the last time this administration sit down with the local concerned people of this nation, and have a serious chat about helping us the locals with our little businesses that we are trying to to keep afloat, when?

   All this Government does is dance abroad in foreign countries and entertain the various crooks from all over the world, namely the Nigerians, Chinese, and the Arabians.

   This government it’s not for the people, and I’ve been saying this for a while now, that they have taken Antigua out of the hands of Antiguan’s, and have given it to foreigners.

   The Audacity to even put such a blatant disrespectful message out there with this Article, is just disgusting to say the least.

   I said this the other day on this forum to someone on here who was spitting all kind of garbage about the good that this meeting between Gatson Browne and the Chinese would do, and I will repeat again for them who can exercise common sense.

   ” The common sense thing to think when two countries are having a business meeting, and one of those countries has nothing to trade, the likely thing that’s happening here is that the country that has nothing to trade is therefore getting bought out”

   Antigua has nothing to trade, much less to a powerful nation like China, so tell me what else that could be happening in these meetings, other than Gatson Browne getting bought out?

   This man is way over his head and gots to go ASAP, because if not, Antigua will be doomed by the time this man is voted out of office.

   • @Islanman26…yes! Yeah! Fu sure! Fu sure! This Gaston Browne, PM – Ruling Arm of the government is in bed with the Chinese like #newlyweds; however, the other segment of the government, the UPP have an obligation, to break down these MOU’s, in order, that the man/woman on the street can grasp what is actually happening with these agreements. If, they’re having trouble getting the ‘public’ information, then individuals like Alister Thomas who was once up front, at the FOI – Freedom Of Information Department should have no issues navigating the path to acquire this info. In addition, the Courts are still available, to address issues whenever, one feel’s aggrieved. They have lawyers like Symister, Tabor, Lovell etc. to file cases. But, here’s UPP dilemma regarding China; they too are in bed with the Chinese and are guilty as well for some of the debts to China. Therefore, there’s very little they’re gonna do to #Rock_da_Boat and cause a MUTINY. The UPP dare not. So, where does this leave the man/woman on the street living #hand_2_Mouth and don’t know anything about MOU’s and other CONTRACTUAL AGREEMENTS.

     While I agree, that the Chinese are taking advantage of islands, Nations pauperised by the Europeans and Arabs, there has to be a concerted effort by CARICOM to curtail China in the Caribbean Sea. If Taiwan can WE CAN. However, going it alone is suicidal.

8. I want to know why this story isn’t headline news? Your freedom of the press is already effected in a dramatically controlled manner. Where is the opposition in educating the public about the Communist takeover?
