To mark World Mental Health Day, online travel agency Thomas Cook has unveiled The Package Holiday Prescription – a new collection of curated long-haul escapes designed to help holidaymakers recharge and boost wellbeing through mindful, restorative breaks.

The launch follows findings from ABTA’s Holiday Habits 2025-26 report, which revealed that 80% of people believe holidays are important for their mental health. Reflecting that sentiment, Thomas Cook has reported a 183% year-on-year rise in bookings to the Bahamas and a 196% increase to Antigua and Barbuda, as customers seek more meaningful ways to switch off from everyday life.
Nicholas Smith, Holidays Digital Director at Thomas Cook said:
“We’re seeing more customers heading further afield with wellbeing in mind – ABTA’s latest report reveals so many are making a conscious effort to invest in their mental health, and our data reveals long-haul island escapes – particularly The Bahamas and Antigua and Barbuda – are leading that trend, offering the space to switch off, reconnect, and feel good again.”
The Package Holiday Prescription includes curated itineraries with experiences geared towards those wanting to leave the tech at home. These range from tranquil boat excursions to mindful snorkelling, where water lovers can even swim with wild pigs at the Bahamas’ famous Rose Island.
