Antigua Airport CEO Resigns with Immediate Effect

Wendy Francette-Williams has resigned as CEO of the Antigua and Barbuda Airport Authority, effective immediately.

The Trinidadian national was appointed in August last year and led the agency during a critical phase for VC Bird International Airport.

Sources suggest the resignation was requested by her superiors, though no official reason has been given.

Joseph Samuel has been appointed acting CEO while a permanent replacement is sought.

More details are expected in due course.

  1. We do not want professionals and qualified people.
We want cronies who will tell us that sea water is sweet when we tell them to say that.
We want people who will pay when we say pay.
So My Dear, I feel your pain however.
    That is not unexpected.
We want people who we can use to do our buddibgs in strategic positions.

  2. I already knows that she would not lasted long as the ABAA CEO. She is not accustomed to micromanagement, dictator and bullying style of management. Gaston and Cutie are the black Massa in the Antigua and Barbuda.

  3. Where ever and when ever you worked in an environment where politicians and their politically appointed boards feel like they know everything and want to dictate to qualify professional THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS AND WILL ALWAYS HAPPENED. And any qualify professional would resist or resign before bowing to political foolishness.

  4. Well well.. Garots at it again….There were many lambasting the government FOR hiring foreigners…now they are getting rid of the foreigners…GAROTS WILL ALWAYS COMPLAIN!!!!!
    WHAT A SET A PEOPLE R U B!! WELL LARD

  5. The CEO for customs and the Antigua Port Authority ain’t resigning, I wonder why. PLENTY MONEY DOES BLIND PEOPLE!!! DOES TURN PEOPLE INTO PUPPETS.

  6. Let us be real for a change! As usual our Government hired someone who would blindly obey because she was unqualified to operate an airport like Antigua. She is a retired woman whose last time on an airport was 11 years ago in Grenada which is about 40 years behind Antigua.
I think her biggest problem was not knowing what to do.

  7. Maybe the woman had health issues
    Maybe she was home-sick
No-one can tell what’s going on inside

One thing is sure : MORE RESIGNATIONS THERE TO COME

  8. @Complaining……You missed the point and I believe, deliberately. Our cries for this ABLP govt to empower Antiguans first have fallen o super deaf ears without support from Antiguans like you.
The point is, the trend continues. The last CEO resigned citing the tendency for Gaston to, “believe White over me”, and him wanting to micromanage her. She who has more “balls” than most men decided to tell him take his job and shove it. Don’t lose the fact that there is a board that should be talking to the CEO and NOT the minister. It’s not hard to see what has happened here once again and another lady who decided that she will not be pushed around has “thrown land”. Knowing ABLP this will continue until a “puppet” is found who will be willing to take the blame for all govt failings.
