The recipient of this award can come from any department in your business.\u00a0 He\/she should be an excellent role model to his\/her fellow employees.\u00a0 This person should demonstrate a positive attitude towards work and have been in the industry\/within your employ for at least three years.\u00a0 He\/she should be ambitious and show proof of personal development.<\/p>

Category 2:\u00a0<\/strong>SUPERVISOR OF THE YEAR<\/strong>
\nThis category is open to Hotels and Associate members.\u00a0<\/em>This award will go to a supervisor from any department who has shown outstanding leadership skills.\u00a0 This person should be able to motivate his\/her team to achieve positive results for his\/her property.\u00a0 Examples of the impact of this person\u2019s leadership on the overall hotel operation should be given.<\/p>\n

Category 3:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>RISING STAR<\/strong><\/p>

This category is open to Hotel and Associate Members.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em>A young professional who demonstrates leadership, and commitment. This individual works tirelessly behind the scenes, going the extra mile to make an outstanding contribution to his\/her company. It is their commitment which makes for an exceptional guest experience. These rising stars are dedicated with a strong commitment to excellence.<\/p>\n

Category 4:\u00a0<\/strong>YOUNG HOTELIER OF THE YEAR<\/strong>
\nThis category is open to Hotels only.<\/em>\u00a0The individual must be a true role model and an example to follow for young people entering the industry.\u00a0 He\/she should have demonstrated outstanding career achievement through self-development.\u00a0 An expert in his\/her field, the person should have demonstrated strong leadership abilities and the power to motivate others.\u00a0 A candidate likely to become a leader in this country\u2019s hotel industry.<\/p>

Category 5:\u00a0<\/strong>YOUNG CHEF OF THE YEAR<\/strong><\/p>

This category is open to Hotel and Associate Members.\u00a0<\/em>This award goes to aspiring chefs such as Senior Cooks, Supervisor Cooks, Pantry Maids and Line Cooks, who have worked for at least 3 years in the industry.\u00a0 Nominees must be hard working and show keen interest in personal and professional development.\u00a0 A team player, this person must display a strong commitment to the culinary arts and community.\u00a0Persons in this category will compete in a cook-off<\/em><\/p>\n

Category 6:\u00a0<\/strong>CHEF OF THE YEAR<\/strong><\/p>\n

This category is open to Hotel and Associate Members.\u00a0<\/em>A culinary professional who is employed as an Executive Chef, Sous Chef, Chef de Partie or Pastry Chef, etc., who has served in the industry for at least 5 years, one of those years spent in his\/her current position.\u00a0 The nominee should display remarkable dedication to mentoring aspiring culinary professionals.\u00a0 This chef must have strong proven proficiency and expertise in his field and commitment to acquiring new skills, techniques and knowledge.\u00a0 Excellent communication skills necessary.\u00a0 Good relations with his\/her staff is also key.\u00a0 Must provide evidence of commitment to the culinary arts and community service.\u00a0 International exposure an asset.\u00a0Persons in this category compete in a cook-off<\/em>
\n<\/a><\/p>\n

Category 7:\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>LIFETIME ACHEVEMENT AWARD<\/strong><\/p>\n

This category is open to Hotel and Associate Members.\u00a0<\/em>The Lifetime Achievement Award is the highest honor. This award is presented to the individual or organization who has made a highly significant contribution to the Hospitality Industry in Antigua and Barbuda. The award is based on significant, long-term contributions to the industry and\/or the ABHTA.<\/p>\n
