The two-member team from the Halo Foundation \u00a0has successfully climbed to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro in north east Tanzania. \u00a0The mountain stands at 19,340 feet, and is fifteen times the height of Antigua\u2019s Boggy Peak.<\/div>\n

Brent Scotland, President of Halo Generation Y, and Lynn Sutherby, Flight Service Manager of an international airline, conquered the world\u2019s tallest free-standing mountain in six days. \u00a0(The length of time for completion is normally up to nine days). \u00a0According to statistics, less than fifty percent of all climbers are victorious in reaching the summit.<\/div>\n

President and Founder of the Halo Foundation, H.E. Lady Williams, congratulated the Team on their achievement. \u00a0 \u201cI was awoken by a call from Lynn very early on Sunday morning\u201d, she said. \u00a0\u201cThey were out of touch for six days, due to no cell phone signals. \u00a0So we had no idea how they were faring. \u00a0The first question I asked was, \u2018Is everything alright?\u2019 \u00a0I spoke briefly to Brent. \u00a0He said the last eight hours of getting to the summit was really difficult. He mentioned, \u2018I will have to tell you the story \u2014 if you only knew the half of it’. \u00a0And then the line went silent, as the connection was extremely poor\u201d.<\/div>\n

Lady Williams continued, \u201cI think it was extremely brave of them both to undertake this challenge. \u00a0The peak of Kilimanjaro is above the clouds, and the lack of air pressure \u00a0at that height can be quite dangerous. So it\u00a0does\u00a0<\/i>require some guts and stamina.\u201d<\/div>\n
